Life Abroad Group for Women of Color
(Group starts when spots fill up)
Building a life in another country can open up new possibilities—and bring unexpected questions about identity, belonging, relationships, and home.
You may find yourself navigating cultural differences, trying to build meaningful friendships, feeling caught between different worlds, or discovering parts of yourself that feel harder to explain to people around you.
This is a six-week, English-speaking process group for women of color who have relocated to Europe and are navigating identity, cultural differences, friendship, belonging, and the emotional experience of building a life in a new country.
You are invited to apply to join the group if:
You identify as a woman of color. Woman with different racial, ethnic, and cultural identities, including women with mixed heritage are welcome.
You currently live in a European country and have relocated from either a European or non-European country.
You can commit to all six sessions (virtual video calls, every other week). We are building trust in a closed container, so consistency is essential.
You fill out this Interest Form and set up a screening call with Teresa.
This is not a skills-based class. Instead, this group offers space for reflection, honest conversation, and learning through our relationships with one another.
Participants will be invited to share honestly, give and receive feedback, explore relational edges, and practice new ways of relating.
We will focus on psychological and relational themes, including: belonging, loneliness, homesickness, relationship challenges, identity, career, immigration issues, racism, building community, and creating a sense of home.

FAQs

A process therapy group is a dynamic, lightly-facilitated space that focuses on what’s happening “here and now”, explores emotions as they arise, and uses peer feedback and group dynamics to gain insight.
Process groups tends to be more affordable than individual therapy. It can also be a good supplement to individual therapy.
-
This is a closed cohort, meaning all members begin together and remain together for the full eight weeks. Enrollment takes place in advance, and the group launches once the minimum number of participants has been confirmed. Once the group begins, no new members will join.
This structure allows time for trust, continuity, and meaningful connection to develop. Participants are asked to commit to all six sessions and attend as consistently as possible.
-
The purpose of the 15-20 minute screening call it's to understand what brings you to the group, explain the group format and expectations, and assess readiness and fit for the group.
-
Yes, participants are asked to commit to the full series and attend as consistently as possible.
I understand that unexpected circumstances arise. If you need to miss a session, please let me know in advance whenever possible. Because your place is reserved for the entire series, missed sessions cannot be refunded or credited toward future offerings.
Consistent attendance helps create a supportive and connected experience for everyone in the group. If you anticipate difficulty attending regularly, please reach out before enrolling so we can consider whether this is the right time for you to participate.

The total cost for the six-week group is €300 (€50 per session), payable in full before the group begins.
