Virtual Asian Therapy Group
This semi-closed* therapy process group for Asians** explores questions such as:
How do we build deeper and more meaningful relationships?
What does it feel like to show up authentically with our whole selves in community?
How can we manage differences, conflict, and relational challenges?
Life is a relational experience. Many of our joys and suffering are shaped by how we relate to others and to the world around us. A process therapy group offers a supportive container—a social microcosm—to observe how we engage with others.
Participants will be invited to share honestly, give and receive feedback, explore relational edges, and experiment with new ways of relating.
Some themes we might explore include: belonging and othering, authenticity, who/what we’re drawn to and why, intimacy and safety, boundaries, group dynamics, “taking up space”, how to navigate differences, and balancing connection to self with connection to others.
*This is an ongoing weekly group (with scheduled seasonal pauses) where new members join only at specific intervals, not every week.
**Asian includes mixed-race, white-passing, and adoptees
(Initial group starts early 2026)
Submit an application and I will reach out to schedule an intake call. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for future cycles.
As spots become available, new members are invited to join at set intervals, about every 6–8 weeks.

FAQs
-
A process therapy group is a dynamic, unstructured form of group therapy that focuses on what’s happening “here and now”, exploring emotions as they arise, and uses peer feedback and group dynamics to gain insight.
Group therapy tends to be more affordable than individual therapy. It can also be a good supplement to individual therapy. For some people who have been in individual therapy for many years and want to do deeper relational work or bridge individual work with collective work, group therapy can be a meaningful option.

In a semi-closed group, new members join only at specific intervals, not every week. When a member leaves the group, their spot opens at the next intake cycle. This typically happens every 6-8 weeks.
A semi-closed group offers a sense of continuity and consistency for building trust and connection as well as an opportunity to explore new relationship dynamics.
Additionally, this group will likely have scheduled seasonal pauses (summer and end-of-year) for rest and integration. These breaks will be communicated well in advance and are meant to support the group’s rhythm.

Because trust and safety take time to develop, you’re encouraged to commit to at least 6–8 sessions once you join. This helps ensure you have a meaningful experience before deciding whether the group is a good fit.
Feeling uncertain, cautious, or awkward at first is a normal part of group therapy (and relationships) and not a sign that you’re doing it wrong.

Yes, leaving or taking a pause is always an option. The choice is always yours! Some people step away because of life circumstances, to integrate, or to reassess their needs. It can also be tempting to leave when things get uncomfortable or vulnerable in groups. If you are thinking about leaving, I’d encourage you to bring it up to the group and allow for a thoughtful transition. You can also rejoin the group in a future cycle.

Because this is an intimate, interpersonal therapy group, each member’s presence matters. Group sessions are billed weekly. If you need to miss a session, please me know as soon as possible. Missed sessions are still charged, as your spot is reserved for you. This policy supports consistency and trust in our group container.
